Media kit PDF or link: which one should you send?
Should your media kit be a PDF or a web link? The trade-offs for creators: freshness, deliverability, mobile reading, analytics, and when a PDF still makes sense.

The short answer
Send a link by default. Keep a PDF for the brands that ask for one. The rest of this page explains why, so you can decide for your own situation.
Side by side
| Link | ||
|---|---|---|
| Numbers | Can update on their own | Frozen on the day you exported |
| Email delivery | A line of text | An attachment, sometimes filtered |
| On a phone | Laid out for the screen | Pinch and zoom |
| Changes after sending | Everyone sees the new version | Send a new file |
| Knowing it was opened | View analytics | No |
| Works offline, in decks | No | Yes |
The real problem with PDFs: they go stale
Brands rarely book the week they receive your kit. A campaign planned for next quarter means your PDF gets opened again two or three months later, with numbers from two or three months earlier. If you have grown since, you undersell yourself. If a number has dropped, it looks like you inflated it.
A link solves this, especially one that pulls numbers straight from your accounts. On Mediakit.ly, Twitch and TikTok statistics refresh on their own with Pro, with the sync date shown next to them.
When a PDF still makes sense
- An agency asks for one to put in a pitch deck for their client.
- A brand’s procurement process requires files.
- You are presenting in person or offline.

Questions
Is a media kit a PDF?
Traditionally yes, but most creators now share a media kit as a link, which stays current and reads well on phones. A PDF version is still useful when an agency or brand asks for a file.
Can I turn my online media kit into a PDF?
Yes. Open it in your browser, choose Print and save as PDF. Add the live link to the PDF so readers can find the latest version.
