How to pitch brands for sponsorships, with email templates

How streamers and creators can pitch brands: finding the right contact, a short sponsorship email template, when to follow up and what to send with your media kit.

By the Mediakit.ly team · Updated

Who to pitch

The brands most likely to say yes are the ones that already fit:

  • Products you use on stream or in videos, unpaid. You can talk about them honestly, and you have proof of fit.
  • Brands already sponsoring creators of your size in your niche. They have a budget and a process.
  • Brands launching something soon: a game, a product, a season. Launches need creators on a date.

Make a short list of 10 to 20 and pitch them properly, rather than sending the same email to 200 addresses.

Finding the right contact

Look for an influencer, creator, partnerships or community marketing manager on the brand’s website or professional networks. Smaller brands often list a partnerships email. Generic support addresses rarely reach the person with the budget. If a brand works through an agency, the agency is your contact.

The pitch email

Short, specific and about them. The template below fits on one phone screen. Replace everything in brackets.

Sponsorship pitch
Subject: [Your name] × [Brand]: [one-line idea]

Hi [first name],

I'm [name], I [stream / make videos about] [niche] for [audience in one phrase]. I've [used / played] [product] for [time], and my [chat / viewers] keep asking about it.

Idea: [one or two sentences, e.g. a two-hour stream playing your new map pack, with three clips on TikTok the same week].

Last 30 days: [average viewers or average views] on [platform], [audience age / country in one line].

My media kit, with numbers, audience and past partners: [link]

Would this fit something you're planning for [month or launch]?

What to send with it

A link to your media kit, not an attachment. Attachments from unknown senders get filtered or ignored, and a link shows your current numbers even if the brand opens it in three weeks. If you need a refresher on what goes in it, see what to put in a media kit.

On Mediakit.ly, your analytics show views and visitors by day, so you can see when a round of pitches gets opened.

Following up

Wait about a week, then follow up once, in the same thread, with something new. If there is still no answer, move on and try again next quarter or at their next launch.

Follow-up
Subject: Re: [original subject]

Hi [first name],

Following up on this in case it got buried. Since I wrote, [one new fact: a milestone, a new number, a relevant stream].

Happy to adapt the idea to whatever you have coming up.

When they reply

Ask about their goals, timeline and budget before quoting. Then send a price scoped to what they need, using the pricing guide, and confirm everything in writing before you go live.

Questions

How do I ask a brand for a sponsorship?

Email a marketing or partnerships contact with a short pitch: why you fit their product, one specific idea, one line of numbers and a link to your media kit. Follow up once after about a week.

Should I attach my media kit as a PDF?

A link is better. Attachments from unknown senders are often filtered, and a link always shows your current numbers.

How many brands should I pitch?

A focused list of 10 to 20 brands that fit your audience, each with a tailored idea, usually gets more replies than a generic email sent to hundreds.
